- Who is responsible for managing this website?
- The Connect website has been developed by the ONE HULL Business Forum in order to improve opportunities for Hull’s private sector to engage in the city’s regeneration.
- What is the ONE HULL Business Forum?
-
The ONE HULL Business Forum is funded by the Local Strategic Partnership, ONE HULL, to engage with the business community and provide private sector input into the regeneration and economic development of Hull. It is the main vehicle for the business sector to become an active partner in the Local Strategic Partnership and is free to join. It is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and we are proud to work with the Federation of Small Businesses, Institute of Directors and Hull City Council.
- Who can make a post?
- Any local organisation who wants to involve businesses can make a post. The site should be used by all sectors across Hull; whether you are a school, University, NHS Trust, community organisation, local government body or private sector business, this site is here to help you. The purpose of the site is to provide a source of information on how local businesses can get involved in their community. ONE HULL Business Forum staff will moderate all postings and retain the right to edit any content.
- Can I post job vacancies on the Connect website?
- The main purpose of the Connect site is to allow private sector businesses to see what opportunities there are to engage with the public and community sectors. It is not a job vacancy site per se so we do not encourage the posting of adverts for paid employment opportunities, however, many of the posts will be advertising voluntary positions. If you are unsure if your post will be suitable please contact us.
- Where can I find out more information on local procurement?
-
If you would like to work with the council, you need to become an approved supplier or contractor. Further information on doing business with Hull City Council can be found here.
ONE HULL has a website which has been designed to allow people from across the region the chance to take advantage of the opportunities that arise from the London 2012 Games. Information on this can be found here. - How is Connect different from Business in the Community?
-
The aims of Connect and Business in the Community are similar in that both are aimed at getting businesses more engaged with their communities and contributing to their local area, however they are different.
The Connect website is a locally focused project managed by the ONE HULL Business Forum looking to work with businesses in Hull and the Local Strategic Partnership.Business in the Community is one of the Prince of Wales’ charities and is a national organisation which ‘inspires, engages, supports and challenges companies to continually improve the impact they have on society and the environment through their responsible business programme.’
- Do you guarantee a response to my post?
- Whilst the ONE HULL Business Forum will manage and promote the Connect website to its members and the wider community, participation in the website is limited by the type and number of opportunities available at any given time and the willingness of business people to take up the positions posted. We cannot guarantee therefore that your particular post will receive a response or indeed that the response which you may get is suitable.
- I am based in the East Riding, can I still use the website?
- The ONE HULL Business Forum is funded by Hull’s LSP and as such the nature of its work is Hull focused. Whilst the Connect website will be primarily used by Hull businesses and other Hull based organisations, we will consider any posting which could have a positive impact on Hull’s people, businesses or community more generally.
