Hull Foster Panel
Summary:
Hull Fostering Agency requires independent member.
Description:
An opportunity has arisen to join the foster panel. The vacancy is very specific and forms part of our duties as a Fostering Agency inspected by Ofsted to provide certain categories of panel members (known as independent members).
The vacancy is for “a person who has at any time been placed with foster carers or whose child has at any time been placed with foster carers”.
Independent members can help to challenge poor practice where necessary. Panels should be fair and be seen to be fair; greater independence can reinforce this.
The regulations are clear about what constitutes independence in that the person cannot be a foster parent approved by Hull Fostering; cannot be employed by Hull Fostering and/or cannot be an elected member for Hull.
