Hull Ready
Summary:
Business Champions are required for the Hull based flagship primary school enterprise programme in £5 Blossom
Description:
Hull Ready has had a huge huge response from primary schools to participate in their flagship initiative, "£5 Blossom" whereby businesses act as advisers and loan the young people £150 to develop their enterprising idea. The whole idea of the project is to get as many Hull primary schools involved as possible so we can create enterprise champions within each one.
The enterprise activities that are delivered with the support of a school based enterprise champion and a business champion will then help the children to explicitly understand the ‘Big 13 points that cover the spectrum of entrepreneurial skills that they will use in school, business and life in general.
Interest from schools has been really positive to date and many schools have felt that the project fits well into their plans for a more creative curriculum. Children enjoy doing practical things so these enterprise activities will really grasp their attention and allow them to set and achieve goals for themselves.
The project is not about making every child think about making money, or owning their own business, but to encourage them to be a little more enterprising in their own thoughts and attitude.
This new an innovtive programme is rewarding for all involved.
Your support is a great way to demonstrate your organisations corporate social responsibility and whats more you get your loan of £150 back knowing you have helped young people create wealth in the City. It also provides opportunities for recognition, networking and creates a positive platform for your business.

This breakthrough scheme ia already having a great impact on inspiring children in our city and improving the business and enterprise skills of the next generation. In the last couple of months I have enjoyed helping the children at Longhill Victoria Primary develop their business and truly think that the whole Hull Ready programme is a groundbreaking initiative in our schools that will go along way to enabling children to become future entrepreneurs.
The children at Longhill were always eager to find out more … it was a very interesting journey and one that I would recommend to other members of Hull’s business community to get involved in as its very worth while and you get your loan back!!!
