Business mentors required for new project
Summary:
Hull University Business School needs business people to support new mentoring project.
Description:
Job seeking can be stressful at the best of times, let alone in a recession, which is why Hull University Business School has launched the new mentoring project, ‘Works for You’.
Funded through monies awarded to the University of Hull by the Economic Challenge Investment Fund (ECIF), the project seeks to improve the job prospects of those in difficulty across the region – and is looking for participants and mentors to get involved.
Building on previous mentoring successes, the project is aimed at those with higher level skills who are unemployed or likely to become unemployed due to the recession. ‘Works for You’ targets managers in the region’s key industries, such as manufacturing and logistics. Mentors will be asked to invest their time, knowledge and efforts to help mentees to reach their potential as a person and as a professional, working in partnership with an experienced academic within the school.
Mentors will be required to offer practical guidance and advice to participants and to keep in touch with the participants throughout the course. This interaction, coupled with occupational development and confidence building workshops with business school academics, will serve to motivate and push them to achieve.
